Hessle Theatre Company brings the powerful and deeply moving musical Dear Evan Hansen to the stage at Hull Truck Theatre from 8–12 September 2026.

When socially anxious teenager Evan Hansen finds himself at the centre of a tragedy, a small lie spirals into something far bigger than he ever imagined. As he navigates friendship, family and the pressure to fit in, Evan must confront the truth about who he is and where he belongs. Honest, heartfelt and contemporary, Dear Evan Hansen is a story about connection, courage and the longing to be seen.

AUDITIONS

You can be a part of this musical phenomenon! Hessle Theatre operates an open audition process, meaning that we welcome new members along with existing members.

Join us for our pre audition sing through on Monday 23rd March at 7:30pm at Derringham Bank Methodist Church, Springbank West to find out more about the show and the audition process. Our directors and musical director will be on hand to answer any questions you may have.

The actual auditions will take place on Saturday 25th April at Derringham Bank Methodist Church.

Please note: This is not a school production. Auditionees must be 16 years of age and have completed their GCSEs by the performance dates.
