Joining the Hessle Theatre Company

Please see the "About HTC" page for details of what productions the Company stages throughout the year. 

To maintain a high standard of artistic excellence, we only ask our members to audition for a musical production, play or concert at the time when we hold the auditions. These usually take place at the following times:

March/April - Concert Season

May/June - Drama Production

July - Musical Production 

But we're not only looking for singers and actors/actresses, but people who are interested in directing, props, back stage…all aspects of theatre/musical production.

If you are in a production you may occasionally need to buy some footwear and special items of clothing, but most are supplied by the company.

Your subscription (due from 1 July in any year) covers the post, telephone calls and the general running of the company.  It covers costume and venue hire and also insurance for all members in rehearsal and performance at all the venues we use.  Rehearsal rooms are very costly so we have to use the time to our best advantage - we expect members to be loyal and work as a team!

Generating ticket sales and promotion for all productions is part of your commitment to the Company, we are continuously looking for corporate sponsorship of any kind to help us achieve our very high production standards.

We do have a social side to the company and, in addition to the productions, social activities go on throughout the year, we like to organise trips to regional theatres and West End shows.
