Our President - Mr. Adrian Paul Roach

Sat at the AGM last Wednesday, I could not believe two years had flown by since my very first introduction to Hessle Theatre Company, and my appointment as your president!! What a wonderful two years it's been, the warmth and welcome I have received from the members has been quite touching. Considering I only knew a couple of people those two years ago, I now feel that I am one of the company, and it is a lovely feeling.

My two years have seen some tremendous achievements, the highlight possibly being Sweeney Todd. This could have been performed in the West End and it would have sold out! It was thoroughly breathtaking from start to finish and the members who took part are clearly of a professional standard. Abigail's Party again was a huge success, selling out every night, and intermingled with concerts and invites to other societies productions, it has been the most rewarding, enjoyable and exhilarating experience.

I can only thank you all for voting me in for another two years, and already I am so looking forward to Katherine Fitzgerald's first directorship with 'Blithe Spirit' at Hull Truck in October. I am sure Katherine will make a huge success of her first production, and with the support of so many wonderfully talented members I have a feeling this won't be her last!! 'Jane Eyre' in March next year is again such a challenge, but one that Martin and co. seem to make so easy.

Again thank you so much for the privilege of being your President - at all times I do the best I can for you and hopefully the next two years will be as rewarding, heart-warming and enjoyable.
