The facilities of the building and high quality of the programme ensure that the Hull New Theatre is as popular today as when the curtain first rose in 1939. The Hull New Theatre has continued to be one of the UK's premier touring venues and features the best in musicals, opera, ballet, drama, children's shows and one night performances.
Since its establishment in 1971, Hull Truck Theatre has carved a reputation of excellence in engaging, contemporary theatre whilst remaining committed to its local community, through outreach initiatives, taking theatre to young people and new audiences. The move to its new home, a state-of-the-art city centre venue, was marked by a new production which saw members of its talented Youth Theatre performing alongside the professional actors.
The Northern Academy of Performing Arts
Situated in the heart of the city of Hull, NAPA offers classes in Dance, Drama and Musical Theatre to young people from age 4 to 19, and believes that the confidence and poise that can be gained from participation in The Performing Arts is invaluable in later life.

The National Operatic and Dramatic Association, founded in 1899, is the main representative body for amateur theatre in the UK. It has a membership of some 2500 amateur/community theatre groups and 3000 individual enthusiasts throughout the UK, staging musicals, operas, plays, concerts and pantomimes in a wide variety of performing venues, ranging from the country's leading professional theatres to village halls.
